What iscoaching?

Coaching is a future-oriented, action-based collaborative process that aims to facilitate the personal or professional development of an individual or company.

In coaching, the coach works with the client in an environment of support and trust. The coach helps the client to explore their beliefs, values, goals and potential, encouraging them to identify their internal resources and develop concrete strategies to achieve results.

Coaching can be applied to a wide range of areas and contexts, including work, career, health, emotions, relationships and personal well-being.

During the coaching sessions, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) techniques can be used which allow the client to create anchors that can give strong motivation to achieve the goals they desire. Do you want to find out more about NLP? Click here.

Coaching sessions can be conducted individually or in a group, and usually take place via video calls or in person.

The main goal of coaching is to foster growth, self-awareness and positive change, enabling the client to achieve higher levels of success and satisfaction in their personal and professional lives.

What is the difference with psychotherapy?

Both psychotherapy and coaching can be valuable for well-being and personal development depending on individual needs and challenges.

Orientation to the present and future vs. analysis of the past

Coaching focuses primarily on the present and future, working to define specific goals and develop strategies to achieve them. In contrast, psychotherapy often includes analyzing the past to better understand the causes of current problems and work on emotional issues.

Direct approach vs. in-depth exploration

Coaching takes a more direct and practical approach, focused on identifying solutions and actions to overcome challenges. Psychotherapy, on the other hand, can involve greater emotional and psychological exploration to better understand the reasons for behaviors and emotions.

Role of the professional: Coach vs Psychologist.

In coaching, the coach takes on a role of guidance and support, helping the client to identify their resources and develop strategies for change, without giving advice, the client always has the best answer for himself.
In psychotherapy, the psychotherapist takes a more active role in the treatment, offering interpretations, advice and specific therapeutic techniques.

Duration and frequency of sessions

The coaching process is much shorter and less frequent than psychotherapy sessions, which may require regular, long-term meetings to achieve significant results.
